Open Day

Once a year Edinburgh does what they call open day. They are many historic building and points of interest that are open to the public. The coolest part was that Janna's college was open. The bottom picture is of McEwan lecture hall. I have no idea how students pay attention to the speaker when in this amazing building. The other pictures are of Janna going into her building and the room where most of her classes are held. My feet are still killing me from walking all day, so I am going to crack a beer and relax. Later.

Funny Night Out

A group of Janna's classmates went out to a comedy club on Tuesday. I tagged along as the only non-student. It was great meeting some of the people Janna had been talking about from her classes. The show was in this really neat but small basement club. The comedians were basically just standing in the crowd on a little platform. One guy kept spitting on the people in front of him as he talked. The funniest part had to be our group. Most of Janna's classmates are not Scots and we only got half of the Jokes. Nonetheless a good time was had by all.

Hello

Hello all. We are Ryan and Janna, a married couple from Montana who just moved to Edinburgh Scotland. This blog is intended to record some of our experiences. Maybe future generations will read this to learn about their ancestors or maybe it will just be a way for us to recall events from our past (as Janna will contest, I have a crappy memory). We are in Scotland for a year so Janna can study at the University of Edinburgh. After that we will return to our beloved Montana. Wish us luck.
